ReelShort Dramas FAQ No Cost to Start

02Nov, 2026

Before You Start Troubleshooting: Understanding the ShortMax App

Account issues become easier to solve once you figure out who operates ShortMax, a vertical short-drama streaming app. SHORTTV LIMITED, a company registered in Hong Kong, is the seller on the App Store, and Google Play lists that same legal entity under the developer name SHORTMAX LIMITED. The app’s launch came in September 2023, when it went up on Google Play on September 3 and on the App Store on September 11 of the same year. Over 50,000 dramas in 19 languages are claimed in its store listing, the company’s own figure rather than an independently verified count. With over 100 million installs listed for the Android version alone, you are hardly alone if you reel short have a billing issue. The app’s terms of service are governed by Hong Kong law. The same product this guide covers comes up whether people type «shortmax», «short max» or «shortmax app».

Unable to Log In to ShortMax?

The majority of shortmax login trouble stems from signing in via another method than the one you used at first. ShortMax’s terms say that you can sign in with Facebook, Google or Apple, or using an email address or phone number tied to your ShortMax account. If you press a different button later, you may wind up in a separate and empty account, which is why a purchase can appear to disappear. Choosing one sign-in method and sticking with it on every device is the safest approach. Don’t count on a guest mode to keep your coins or pass secure, because whether ShortMax has one is unconfirmed. Follow the steps below to rule out that simple mix-up before assuming your coins are gone.

  1. Return to the sign-in button you used for your first payment.
  2. Check for your purchases while trying the other methods one at a time.
  3. For phone or email login, use the address or number you linked to the account.
  4. Restart your phone after updating the app.
  5. If nothing works, contact support with your UID and receipt, as outlined below.

How ShortMax Subscriptions Work

The headline shortmax subscription in the US App Store goes by the name Weekly Pass Pro. In September 2026 it is priced at about $19.99 a week, another tier sits at about $9.99 a week, and one-time purchases range from about $3.49 to $24.99. Prices vary by country, platform and promotion, so use those figures as a rough reference. We could not confirm monthly and yearly plans, because the US store shows only weekly passes. The terms of service say a subscription renews automatically 24 hours before it expires, at the same price. People get caught out by this timing, because a cancellation on the last day might already be too late. Coins are what unlock episodes outside the pass, and App Store reviewers complain that certain episodes cost up to 60 coins with little cost information up front. Check the price on the unlock screen each time instead of assuming every episode costs the same.

Charged After a Free Trial?

Getting charged unexpectedly after what seemed like a free period is a common complaint in this app category. The «free trial» and «24 hours free» wording confused people, as ShortMax’s own replies on Google Play admit. In reality, a weekly pass begun through an offer continues to renew until you cancel it. As both Apple and Google note in their help pages, deleting the app does not stop billing. Who actually charged you decides where you cancel and where you ask for money back, so finding that out is your first job. A clear timeline makes every later step faster, so gather the evidence first.

  1. Check your inbox for an Apple or Google Play receipt.
  2. Cancel the pass and request refunds through that store if you find one.
  3. If there isn’t one, screenshot the merchant name on your card statement.
  4. Cancel the renewal immediately using the steps below.
  5. Then request a refund through the matching route.

Stopping ShortMax on iPhone

Apple takes care of the billing for passes bought through the App Store, so the cancel control lives in your iPhone settings. The ShortMax terms also mention an «About Subscription» option inside the app, but Apple’s settings are the most dependable place to stop an App Store renewal. Removing the app from your home screen cancels nothing, and Apple says so clearly. Try to cancel at least a day before the renewal date, because the pass renews 24 hours before it expires. You will need less than a minute on the whole process. For proof of the date, capture the confirmation screen.

  1. Tap your name at the top after opening Settings.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Tap ShortMax from the list.
  4. Tap Cancel, then confirm.
  5. You may have paid under another Apple ID or on Android if ShortMax does not appear.

Stopping ShortMax on Android

On Android devices, a pass bought through Google Play is handled from the Play Store rather than from ShortMax itself. Deleting an app does not cancel its subscription, and Google’s help page is clear on that point. ShortMax’s terms mention an in-app «About Subscription» option, which is another route, but renewals billed by the store are reliably switched off in Google Play. Unless you are in the same Google account that paid, the subscription may not show up in the list, so check that. If you paid anywhere other than Google Play, it will not show there, and support becomes your route. As soon as it shows as cancelled, grab a screenshot and store it with your receipt.

  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. Locate Subscriptions in your account menu.
  3. Select ShortMax.
  4. Press Cancel and follow the prompts.

Getting a Refund: What ShortMax’s Terms Say

ShortMax’s terms of service take a hard line on refunds. To quote the company, refunds are «not entertained unless the paid product/service is unusable for the reason of ShortMax». Taken literally, that leaves little room for a refund just because you forgot to cancel. That said, Apple and Google have their own refund processes covering store purchases, which run separately from the app’s terms. For a purchase made on iPhone, you can request a refund through Apple’s Report a Problem page, and Apple usually replies within 24 to 48 hours. As Google explains, on Android you might be able to get a refund directly from Google Play within 48 hours of purchase. Once that window has passed, Google refers you to the developer, so you will need to write to ShortMax customer service. Refunds are not guaranteed, so summarize what happened briefly and attach your receipt.

How to Contact ShortMax Customer Service

ShortMax’s customer service works mainly by email. Write to the service email listed in ShortMax’s terms of service, which are published on the official ShortMax website. Be wary of addresses posted on question-and-answer sites, since at least one circulating address uses a misspelled domain and could not be verified. The developer, replying to Google Play reviews, asks users to include their UID, which is the account ID staff use to find you. The subject line «Cancel Subscription – Urgent» is recommended in the same replies for cancellation problems. If the charge came through a store and replies are slow, you can use the Apple or Google refund route at the same time. A complete opening message saves time, so add the items below.

  1. The sign-in method you use and your UID.
  2. The date, amount and store of the charge, with a receipt screenshot.
  3. Whether you have already cancelled, with a screenshot of that screen.
  4. A single clear request: cancel, refund, restore your coins or fix a login.

Where Each ShortMax Task Gets Done

Much of the annoyance comes from tackling a problem in the wrong place. Your account, your coins and your viewing are handled by the app, whereas the money for store purchases is handled by the stores. For whatever the app and the stores cannot settle on their own, you turn to email support. Use the table below as a handy map before you start tapping through menus. Menus can change with updates, and as of September 2026, the table reflects the terms and store help pages. Cancel first, ask questions second when in doubt.
